This painting tells the story of the Samaritan woman. Rejection, broken relationships, and the quiet shame made her draw water alone at midday. When Jesus met her, He said, "You have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband" (John 4:18). Yet instead of turning away, He offered her compassion and hope, saying, "Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst" (John 4:14).

The look on her face is a cry of relief.
